In the late 1800s, DeKalb was originally named Huntley’s Grove. When we discovered this tidbit, we immediately gravitated towards the word “grove”. A simple yet elegant term that reflected a small community of trees without fuss or overcrowdedness. In the same spirit, we wanted to create a neighborhood tavern that’s relaxing, intimate, and offers modern takes on comforting dishes.

We are Jason, Sam, and Steve. Three close friends rooted in DeKalb. Born and raised here, we are fulfilling our childhood dream of opening a restaurant together in our hometown. Each of us comes to the table with our own professional expertise and personal palate. Combined, we have over 30 years of experience in the restaurant business. We are passionate about providing delicious food, kind service, and a welcoming environment.
